To help illustrate why the LX remains the best choice in the segment, Metro Lexus has assembled this competitive comparison in which the LX goes up against one of its biggest rivals -- the Cadillac Escalade. Comparing these two rivals, a closer inspection reveals some key advantages for the Lexus LX in terms of premium standard features. At the touch of a button, you can open the standard power sunroof of the LX to fill the interior with some fresh air and sunlight. To receive a sunroof on the Cadillac Escalade, you’ll have to step up to a far more expensive trim level. The LX also offers fully automatic headlights to ensure appropriate visibility at any time and during all weather conditions. Greater adjustability in the driver’s seat, an extra zone of climate control, front seat armrests, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and an overhead storage console are other amenities you won’t find on the Escalade.
Performance capabilities are certainly an important factor in the purchase of a full-size luxury SUV. For example, the Lexus LX comes standard with Drive Mode Select. Drive Mode Select enables you to make your vehicle more responsive or efficient with a simple turn of a dial. You can select Sport, Normal, or ECO modes for a personalized drive experience. The Escalade does not offer a similar feature. The LX also boasts nearly a full inch of ground clearance, ensuring that no obstacle will stand between you and your weekend adventure. Its larger front brakes also provide superior stopping power.

Examples include Lane Departure Warning, the Lane Keeping System, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Monitoring. If you want this equipment on the Escalade, you’ll be required to shell out an additional $5,600 to step up to the Luxury trim.
Similarly, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking add even more confidence behind the wheel of your LX. To enjoy these advanced technologies on the Cadillac Escalade, you have to go even higher to the Premium Luxury trim while spending an extra $10,000. Regardless of trim level, the Escalade does not offer front seat knee airbags or second-row side airbags which help provide better protection in the event of a collision.

Lexus Tops J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) for the 8th Consecutive Year1
Having the confidence of proven long-term dependability provides extra reassurance and greater ownership satisfaction.
Every year, the J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) measures the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the past 12 months by original owners of vehicles1. In 2019, original owners of 2016 model-year vehicles were asked to report their experience. A lower score reflects higher quality, and the study covers 177 specific problems grouped into eight major vehicle categories.
In a historic victory, Lexus has topped the competition in terms of dependability for the eighth consecutive year with a final score of 106 PP100. Not a single manufacturer has been able to outperform Lexus for the coveted top spot in the J.D. Power VDS in the last seven years. Cadillac achieved the ninth worst dependability, earning a final score of 166 PP100. When it comes to dependability, Cadillac is not able to match the superior engineering of Lexus vehicles.
