Lexus RX

About The New Lexus RX

When it was first introduced, the Lexus RX created the luxury crossover segment and it has continued to set the standard ever since. Continuous evolution has kept the RX as the leader in its segment year after year, setting a high bar for both sales and quality. Advanced powertrains, safety features, and tech blend with performance-oriented styling to combine to create a crossover that stands out from the crowd. Handling is better than ever and class-leading cabin ergonomics make for a seamless driving experience.

What the Critics Say

“The RX's interior design is more modern than the last-generation model, with textured fabric sections on the upper door panels, rich-looking ambient lighting, and open-pore wood trim on RX350 models. The RX500h F Sport Performance features more heavily bolstered front seats, black interior trim, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and aluminum pedals. Cargo space is generous behind the second-row seats, so there's plenty of space for a big load of groceries or several suitcases when road-tripping.” — Car & Driver

“We’re big fans of the latest Toyota/Lexus infotainment system. With a screen up to 14.0 inches in size, the RX offers up a bright, crisp example that can accept multiple input methods. Touch is of course one main choice, but the improved audio assistant makes it easy to ask for directions, which then show on the available head-up display. Wireless phone pairing for both major platforms is a big win too.” — AutoGuide

What’s New For 2026

For 2026, Lexus has introduced the Appearance Package for F SPORT Handling and F SPORT Performance trims. This is similar to last year’s Black Line Special Edition package, with black design elements inside and out, including a unique set of 21-inch wheels. One exception to the black makeover is the brake calipers, which are painted orange to better stand out against the black wheels. Apart from that, the only change is that a wireless charging pad is now standard equipment across the whole trim lineup.

Lexus RX

Evolved Styling

Elements of the new RX’s exterior design will look familiar, like the L-shaped exterior lights and the spindle grille. But for the new generation, they have evolved. The taillights are full LEDs and are joined together by a light bar that runs across the back. The headlights have a new look and a triple-beam full LED configuration is available. The spindle grille incorporates the body color at the top, a new look for a Lexus front fascia. The RX has a lower center of gravity and the athletic looks hint at the performance options Lexus is offering for this new RX.

Powertrain Options

A key differentiator between the Lexus RX and its competitors is the choice of configurations available to you. The new RX offers a wide range of trims and several different powertrains for however you drive. The first is a 2.4-liter turbocharged I4 engine that produces 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, this is for the RX 350 and RX 350 F Sport Handling. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional. Next is a 2.5-liter I4 mated to a hybrid system that produces a combined 246 horsepower and 233 lb-ft of torque for the RX 350h, which comes with all-wheel drive as standard. Also with standard AWD is the RX 500h F Sport Performance. As the name implies, the performance-oriented powertrain for the RX is a 2.4-liter turbocharged I4 from the RX 350 with a performance-tuned hybrid system, producing a system total of 367 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. For maximum efficiency, there is the RX 450h+, which is a plug-in hybrid. This is an excellent way to save gas while still enjoying 304 combined system horsepower.

Lexus RX Interior

Advanced Technology

Lexus didn’t just pack the new RX with cutting-edge technology, that technology has been incorporated in such a way as to make it seamlessly blend with the design and the driving experience. Visibility is improved with triple-beam LED headlights and thematic ambient illumination provides unobtrusive lighting for the interior. There is an optional 14-inch touchscreen with the new Lexus Interface infotainment system. This gives you access to Drive Connect with Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant, and Destination Assist. There is optional Advanced Park and Traffic Jam Assist to help with some of the more stressful parts of your drive.
