Before you get in your next luxury vehicle, consider one man’s story of getting out of his.

"At 10:27 a.m. on Wednesday, October 26, my LS 460 was blindsided by an 18-ton truck traveling at 70 mph. It left no skid marks at the scene. The impact tore the entire front left-wheel assembly off my Lexus, sending it more than 250 yards away, and spun the vehicle into the truck, crushing the rear. Fortunately, the entire cabin was left intact and I walked away without a scratch. Shortly after, I called my Lexus dealer and said, ‘Naturally, I want the same car this time around.6"

Lexus LC

Full Lineup

One of the most glaring differences between Lexus and Lincoln is in the size of their respective lineups. Lincoln today is exclusively an SUV company, selling just four models that aren’t always easy to tell apart from one another. Lexus has a larger and more diverse lineup even if we’re just talking about SUVs, but obviously there is a lot more to Lexus than that. Maybe you want a sedan, coupe, convertible, or sports car. None of those are options with Lincoln, but are all easily acquired from a Lexus dealership. And if you’re looking for a hybrid or electric vehicle, the difference is even more stark, which brings us to our next point.

Lexus RZ

Lexus Electrification Technology

Blending outstanding fuel efficiency with potent performance, Lexus electrification technology continues to push the limits of what’s possible with electric power. These advanced EVs and hybrids deliver a variety of advantages over a conventional powertrain, including instantaneous acceleration on superior MPG, without sacrificing on the luxury buyers crave. Since the beginning, Lexus has been at the forefront of developing this sophisticated technology. Currently, you’ll find a total of 11 hybrid and pure electric models in the Lexus lineup, including sedans, SUVs, and a coupe. Buyers will have trouble finding a hybrid vehicle which meets their needs at Lincoln, which only offers a single “traditional“ hybrid and one plug-in hybrid model.

    • Lexus NX Hybrid
    • Lexus NX Plug-In Hybrid

J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study

Dependability - Lexus Tops Lincoln in J.D. POWER U.S. VEHICLE DEPENDABILITY STUDYSM (VDS)

Most prospective buyers of new vehicles demand a positive ownership experience, highlighted by long-term dependability. Having a vehicle that performs reliably for years to come always makes your driving experience more rewarding.

Every year, the J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability StudySM (VDS) measures the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the past 12 months by original owners of three-year old vehicles1. In 2025, original owners of 2022 model-year vehicles were asked to report their experience. A lower score reflects higher quality, and the study covers 184 specific problems grouped into nine major vehicle categories.

Lexus remains an outstanding choice when it comes to dependability with a score of 140 PP100. This is a full 62 problems per 100 vehicles lower than the industry average of 202 PP100. Compared to the Lincoln score of 221 PP100, Lexus is the clear winner in terms of dependability.

Now that you’ve seen the results, the clear favorite in this comparison is Lexus. Metro Lexus of Cleveland cordially invites you to come see the Lexus lineup in-person to get a better sense of which model suits your individual tastes and lifestyle.
